Simone's Rose SS'11 collection

A picture is worth a thousand words they say...  As a designer, textiles are worth a million words.   They inspire everything I make and inexplicably speak to the design of a garment.  A delicate silk will glide beautifully across a woman's curves, an organic and earthy knit will evoke feelings of comfort and a crisp white cotton will make you feel fresh and ready to face the morning sun.  Sequins and lace, well... those combined in the right way bring out a feeling of confidence and romance in a way that is truly beautiful.

This collection was inspired by a combination of these and other beautiful fabrics - most are organic or mill ends and were chosen for the feelings they evoke as well as for their sustainability.  I wanted this collection to breathe, to inspire sexy confidence and maybe...   a little romance.

Here's a sneak peak at the Simone's Rose SS'11 photo shoot, shot in Traverse Bay, Manitoba.   The styling for the shoot was inspired by Brigitte Bardot and the idea of a woman lost and forgotten on a deserted island, waiting for her love to return.

Many, MANY thanks to my wonderful and beautiful team of talented ladies.... Hair by Charlene Funk, Make-up and modeling by Jocelyn Caballero, also modelling - Mesia Custodio and Photography by Liane Musick.

xoxo Michelle
